This home has been in my family for over 80 years. My great-grandfather was the third black homeowner on the block. I have a... non-profit and have partnered with Charles Drew University on a few initiatives. I have gotten to know faculty members and have created lasting friendships. To provide a clean, safe home for their students or faculty on their academic journey is meaningful to me.
This is a three-bedroom home, with two smaller rooms, a master bedroom and bath at the rear of the house. The house has been renovated. It has new appliances, fresh paint, and multiple windows, so there's a lot of light.
All three rooms are furnished. The front two rooms share the bathroom. The entire house will be shared by each person renting a room. Everyone has full access to common areas: kitchen, living room, and backyard, and use of the printer, washer, and dryer. Tenants will replace printer ink.
Utilities, WiFi, Prime, and Netflix are included in the rent. All rooms have a floating work desk with a 32-inch TV and AC. All headboards have charging capacity for phones and laptops. All rooms have four face towels and two large towels, with hangers and a laundry hamper. The backyard has a fire pit, chairs, and an umbrella to block the sun, sit, and chill.
The home is 1.3 miles from Charles Drew and 5.4 miles from Dominguez Hills. The driveway can accommodate two cars. I will clean the garage to allow tenants to park their cars in the backyard, as parking can be tight at times. There are security cameras around the house.
This is an urban community. Neighbors are quiet and friendly. The street is quiet. I have been a staple in the community and on the block, so neighbors look out for my home.
The rooms will be available on August 14th /15th. For the front two rooms, rent is $1475, $1550, and the master is $1725. Absolutely no pets. There isn't a grassy area to accommodate them any longer. First month's rent and security deposit of $650 are due at lease signing, along with an interview with all applicants to ensure they are a good fit for the home and other tenants.
